On the Married to Medicine episode ‘Hawaii Five Solo’, all the ladies and their husbands (except Lisa Nicole Cloud’s husband Darren) fly to Hawaii to celebrate the anniversary of Dr. Simone and her husband Cecil. At a group dinner, Toya’s husband, Dr. Eugene Harris, commands the attention of everyone and compares marriage to whitewater rafting. “When it’s nice and calm, that’s when you sit back and enjoy the sun and you don’t have to put much work in. But when the rafters come, that’s when you have to dig in deep and really try to stay in the boat.” He goes on to encourage everyone to be “successful in their marriages.”
Simon and Cecil weren’t impressed. Simone kind of changes the topic of conversation by stirring he pot and asking everyone at the table, “When is it okay to keep a secret from your spouse?” Eugene brings up strip clubs. Some men (Darren) don’t tell their wives about going to strip clubs. When Toya speaks up, the conversation gets to a point where Eugene and Toya are loudly talking over each other. “Shut up,” Toya tells Eugene. He puts down his biscuit in disbelief and says, “Don’t tell me to shut up.” Toya then says, “I didn’t say that. Stop putting words in my mouth.” She looks at her husband’s plate and adds, “You better put that biscuit in your mouth and stop playin.” Married to Medicine airs Fridays at 8pm on Bravo.
