The night before the 58th presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. where Donald Trump will be sworn in as President of the United States, TV network ABC will broadcast its 20/20 special, “America’s New First Family: The Trumps Go to Washington.” The promotional trailer asks “What makes this family tick?” When the trailer was posted, many viewers vowed not to watch because they are not supporters of Trump. “I love 20/20, but this is one special I’ll pass on,” one viewer wrote and several said they would do the same. But it cuts both ways in our divided nation.
One Trump supporter wrote: “I’m a Trump supporter but will not watch because I do not trust ABC to be impartial.” Another woman who describes herself as a conservative Christian threatened the TV program with: “Better say and do nothing but Nice things for the Trumps or this will be the last time I watch 20/20…” The 20/20 special “America’s New First Family: The Trumps Go to Washington” airs Thursday, January 19 at 10pm on ABC.
