On the NCIS episode ‘Pay to Play,’ the NCIS team investigates a series of escalating, violent threats against Congresswoman Jenna Flemming who thinks she knows how to handle her own safety after 10 years on the Hill. She’s not buying that the FBI and NCIS are actually concerned about her welfare. She believes she’s being bought (both agencies want Flemming to sign an appropriations bill). Despite her argument, it’s become a federal case and NCIS Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) oversees temporary protection detail.
Congresswoman Jenna Flemming is portrayed by Mary Stuart Masterson. She’s well-recognized for her roles in the films Fried Green Tomatoes with Mary-Louis Parker, Benny & Joon with Johnny Depp, and John Hughes’ Some Kind of Wonderful with Eric Stoltz and Lea Thompson. NCIS airs Tuesdays at 8pm on CBS.
