A 31-year-old man named Joe was featured on My 600-lb Life a year ago. He weighed close to 800 lbs., was unemployed and having suicidal thoughts. He lost enough weight to be eligible for gastric bypass surgery. Since then, he has lost 200 lbs. In My 600-lb. Life: Transformed, Joe says he’s been able to do a lot more since his surgery. “My life is completely different,” says Joe. Every day he’s reaching for new goals. While the cameras rolling, Joe (now under 600 lbs.) announces that he wants to try driving a car.
The joy and pride on Joe’s face when he discovers he can fit is priceless and his mother is there to see it. Joe admits the steering wheel “just barely” rubs against his belly but he is “ecstatic.” My 600-lb Life: Transformed airs Wednesdays at 9pm on TLC.
