In the 2014 action thriller film Big Game, Air Force One goes down in Finland with the President of the United States (Samuel L. Jackson) in it. Although the film was shot on set and on location in Bavaria and Munich, Germany, the director Jalmari Helander and producer Petri Jokiranta are Finnish. Big Game is reported as the most expensive film ever produced in Finland with a budget of €8.5 million (about USD$10 million). As of May 2015, Big Game made a total of $7.4 million worldwide.
Big Game stars Finnish actor Onni Tommila as the 13-year-old boy Oskari (who’s on a rite-of-passage hunting mission to prove his maturity) who helps the president survive the wilderness. Big Game makes its prime-time American TV debut on CBS on Saturday, December 16 at 8pm.
