Reportedly requiring everyone on the set of The New Celebrity Apprentice to call him “Governor”, legendary movie tough guy Arnold Schwarzenegger may surprisingly need the emotional reinforcement bestowed by a title. Because unlike the man he’s replacing as Apprentice host– a guy named Donald Trump — Schwarzenegger has been known to traffic in self doubt. Indeed, the former Mr. Olympia isn’t too pleased with what he sees in the mirror. His reflection, Schwarzenegger told Cigar Aficionado, makes him “throw up” sometimes.
Even back when he was in peak shape, long before he became Governor of California, Schwarzenegger was plagued by body issues, never satisfied with what he saw. “I’d look in the mirror after I won one Mr. Olympia after another and think, ‘How did this pile of shit win?’ I never saw perfection. There was always something lacking.” So at least the contestants know Schwarzenegger’s as harsh on himself as he is on them. The New Celebrity Apprentice airs Mondays at 8pm on NBC.
