All throughout the election it seemed like old Howard Stern interviews might be Kryptonite to Donald Trump‘s run for president. Over and over the media unearthed bawdy audio of Trump saying something sexist or scandalous in conversation with Stern — but none of it hurt Trump in the end. If anything, the decades Trump spent winning fans on the Howard Stern platform helped his candidacy.
In one memorable exchange last year, Stern lobbied Trump for a Supreme Court nomination if Trump got elected. Trump said: “Well, I’ll tell you what — in terms of brainpower he’s right at the top.” Stern supported Clinton for president, but the “King of All Media” went out of his way not to hobble Trump’s efforts, refusing to knock Trump despite countless chances. Stern may not be in line for a SCOTUS gig, but another of his dreams is totally possible during a Trump presidency. Stern said this week on his show that his “dream in life” is to go see Camp David. That’s likely not going to be a problem.
