The title of the Family Guy episode ‘Chris Has Got a Date, Date, Date, Date, Date’ is meant to echo the catchy lyric from Taylor Swift’s hit “Shake It Off“. On the episode, Chris posts an online video inviting Taylor Swift to his homecoming dance and she says yes. The problem is, when Swift begins to fall for Chris, her music suffers.
This isn’t the first time Family Guy has referenced Taylor Swift. In “Roads to Vegas” (which originally aired in May 2013), Stewie loses a lot of money in Vegas when he puts everything on sixteen, after Swift’s song Sixteen (which is really called “Fifteen“, and yes, the roulette ball falls on 15). Later, they meet Swift and her less attractive twin who the guys call “Taylor Not-So Swift.” Family Guy airs Sundays at 9pm on FOX.
