A lot of things were decided in America on November 8 — and the legendary stoner entertainment duo Cheech & Chong were paying attention. Back in May the excellent Hawaii-based media resource Civil Beat interviewed the pair (see below), who talked about pot and politics. (They encouraged Donald Trump to “build a mall.”) Later in the voting booths, some things went Cheech & Chong’s way and some things didn’t.
Ignorance and fear is a disease that can and will be cured with knowledge and love. It will take time but time is all we have.

Voters in California, Nevada and Massachusetts voted to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in their states, with four more — Arkansas, Montana, Florida and North Dakota — approving pot for medical use. But Americans failed what Cheech & Chong called an “aptitude test for the American public.” That’s how Tommy Chong described the candidacy of Donald Trump — and the American public failed the test. “If Trump had an ounce of Cheech & Chong in him, he’d see the humor in what he’s doing,” Chong said back in May. It’s not funny now.
