In the Blue Bloods episode ‘The Price of Justice,’ while NYPD Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and his partner Baez (Marisa Ramirez) try to convince a traumatized young woman who was held hostage to press charges, Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) has a big PR fire to put out. A high-profile NYPD fund-raiser named Sy Goodman is pulled over for speeding (doing 95) on the Major Deegan. He was in an NYPD vehicle using lights and sirens, with a gun on the console, and then used Frank’s courtesy card with the arresting officer.
Sy Goodman is portrayed by Saul Rubinek. He’s known for his roles on Syfy’s Warehouse 13 (Artie Nielsen), Blind Justice (Dr. Allan Galloway), Frasier (Daphne’s fiance Donny Douglas), and A Nero Wolfe Mystery (Lon Cohen), among many others. Rubinek is also recognized for his role as Hasty Hathaway in the Jesse Stone TV movies starring Tom Selleck, and in the films Unforgiven (W.W. Beauchamp), The Family Man (Alan Mintz), and True Romance (Lee Donowitz). He also starred in the short film “Arguments” directed by his daughter Hannah (see below). Blue Bloods airs Fridays at 10pm on CBS.
