In the TV movie A Mother’s Escape, when married woman Murel (Tara Buck) leaves her abusive, alcoholic husband Tommy (Damon Carney) and takes her 7-year-old son Kipp (Spencer Mabrey) with her, she’s accused of abducting the boy. Driving across the state of Oklahoma and headed to California, Murel and Kipp are on the run not just from Tommy but the police, too. Murel proves that she’s willing to do anything to keep Kipp far away from his adoptive father Tommy.
