On The Simpsons episode ‘Trust but Clarify,’ Lisa and Bart investigate Krusty’s new candy (“Krustaceans”) which leaves a bad taste in their mouths. Meanwhile, as Homer pursues a promotion at the nuclear plant, news anchor Kent Brockman struggles on the job. That’s when real-life news anchorman Dan Rather appears.
This isn’t Rather’s first time on The Simpsons. In January 2008, Rather appeared in the episode “E Pluribus Wiggum” – when the people of Springfield support their own write-in candidate for President of the United States, 8-year-old Ralph Wiggum. Rather got to deliver the line: “Sweet mother of Murrow!” (Then Daily Show host Jon Stewart appeared on the episode, too.) The Simpsons airs Sundays at 8pm on FOX.
