The 2017 Miss America Competition (don’t call it a pageant) is celebrating its 96th year. Once again the annual event is held in Atlantic City — but this year there are new judges including billionaire Mark Cuban, gymnast Gabby Douglas, and country singer Cole Swindell, among others. The hosts of the show are Chris Harrison from The Bachelor franchise and Sage Steele.
Sage Steele is the host of the weekend editions of NBA Countdown on ESPN and ABC, and beginning in October she will also become the lead anchor for SportsCenter on the Road. Like judge Mark Cuban, Steele is a graduate of Indiana University where she studied sports communication. Steele’s father, Colonel Gary Steele, was the first African-American to play varsity football at West Point. Sage Steele’s husband of 17 years is former personal trainer Jonathan Bailey. They have three children. The 2017 Miss America Competition will air on Sunday, September 11 at 9pm on ABC.
