In the Modern Family episode ‘A Stereotypical Day,’ while the Dunphys deal with Alex’s (Ariel Winter) bout of mononucleosis, and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) deal with Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) disrespecting her new friend Tom (who is transgender), Jay (Ed O’Neill) meets his new neighbors. Jay wants the family to feel welcome so he invites his friend Miles over.
Miles is portrayed by Ernie Hudson. He’s known for his roles on Grace and Frankie (Jacob), The Secret Life of the American Teenager (Dr. Ken Fields), Law & Order (Frank Gibson), Desperate Housewives (Detective Ridley), Oz (Warden Leo Glynn), and St. Elsewhere (Jerry Close), among many others. Hudson is also well recognized for his role as Winston Zeddmore in the Ghostbusters movies. Hudson is currently starring in the new EPIX series Graves with Nick Nolte. Modern Family airs Wednesdays at 8pm on ABC.
