On the Chesapeake Shores episode ‘We’re Gaining a Daughter,’ while Trace (Jessie Metcalf) considers going back to Nashville and Abby (Meghan Ory) goes to New York to fight for custody of her daughters, Abby’s parents Mick and Nell are worried sick about their soldier son Kevin. Kevin’s unit has been missing in the desert for 48 hours.
Abby’s father Mick is portrayed by Treat Williams. The veteran actor is known for his roles on Chicago Fire (Benny Severide), American Odyssey (Colonel Stephen Glen), White Collar (James Bennett), Heartland (Dr. Nathaniel Grant), Brothers & Sisters (David Morton), and Everwood (Dr. Andy Brown), among others. Williams is also recognized for his roles in several films including Smooth Talk (Arnold Friend). The 1985 film is based on a short story by Joyce Carol Oates. Williams stars opposite Laura Dern, daughter of Diane Ladd who plays Williams’ wife Nell on Chesapeake Shores.
