The new TV dramedy This Is Us is like an intertwined short story collection. The camera captures the lives of several people who will eventually notice “peculiar coincidences about each other.” One of the first scenes features a young couple (Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia) getting ready to have triplets in a hospital. It’s a high-risk delivery but they believe they’re in the good hands of obstetrician Doctor K.
