Before the final five finalists are announced on Season 11 of America’s Got Talent (September 7), Grammy nominated R&B artist Andra Day will sing her powerful song “Rise Up.” One of the contestants vying for a spot at the finalists is 14-year-old singer Jayna Brown, who sang the song during Judge Cuts. Her performance evoked guest judge Louis Tomlinson of One Direction to hit the Golden Buzzer.
Andra Day will perform “Rise Up” with the shadow dance duo Blue Journey. They (dancers Nick Mishoe and Rachel Kivlighan) were contestants on America’s Got Talent Season 9 in 2014. Their most memorable performances (choreographed by Dutchman David Middendorp) were set to Radiohead songs “Street Spirit” and “Exit Music (For a Film).” Blue Journey made it to the Top 12. Blue Journey is currently working on a new project called ‘Blue Technology’ which will premiere in the Netherlands this September. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC.
