Before America’s Got Talent announces the winner of Season 11, three established musical acts will perform: Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Stevie Nicks, members of the hit Broadway show Jersey Boys (they’ll perform with Sal “The Voice” Valentinetti), and Il Volo (performing with AGT opera singer Laura Bretan). Il Volo is an Italian “popera” trio consisting of three handsome young men – baritone Gianluca Ginoble, 21, and tenors Ignazio Boschetto, 21, and Piero Barone, 23. (Il Volo, btw, means The Flight in Italian.) In 2010, they became the first Italian artists to sign with American label Geffen Records.
[Il Volo has released 4 studio albums since 2010]
Soon after signing with Geffen, Il Volo appeared on several American TV shows including American Idol (Season 10), The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, Ellen, and in the series finale of Entourage (see below), among others. Il Volo knows a thing or two about TV talent shows, too. In 2015, they represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. While they didn’t win first place (they came in third), they did win first place in the televoting. The camera loves them. America’s Got Talent’s Season 11 finale will air Wednesday, September 14 at 8pm on NBC.
