During the first round of Blind Auditions on The Voice Season 11, 20-year-old Christian Cuevas sang the Michael Bolton song, “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You.” The young man from Orlando, Florida sang the song with such emotion that three coaches turned their chairs – Adam Levine, Alicia Keys and Blake Shelton. Levine asked what he was thinking about when he sang and Cuevas said he was thinking about his father, Julio Cuevas, who recently passed away. His father died two months after being diagnosed with liver cancer.
Julio Cuevas was a popular musical artist in Puerto Rico in the 1970s. Christian posted a video of his father’s song “Un Joven” (translated “A Young Man”) on YouTube. See below. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
