In the Blindspot episode ‘Hero Fears Imminent Rot,’ while Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) leads the team on a mission to stop a series of bombs from going off in New York City, he’s also thinking about his future. In the last episode, Weller discovered that he’s going to become a father. His ex-girlfriend Allie (Trieste Kelly Dunn) is pregnant.
Blindspot executive producer Martin Gero says the decision to make Weller a father was “a hotly contested thing” because “whenever a character suddenly is expecting a kid, it becomes a huge issue for fans.” Gero says Allie’s pregnancy “will give Weller the motivation to come out of his funk.” Blindspot airs Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC.
