Grammy nominated R&B artist Andra Day will perform on Season 11 of America’s Got Talent. After her performance, the five AGT contestants who will advance to the finals will be announced. One of the 11 artists vying for a spot in the finals is 14-year-old singer Jayna Brown. Jayna revealed on the show that she and her mother have been homeless, staying with family and friends. So when Brown sang Andra Day’s song “Rise Up,” it resonated with many people. AGT guest judge Louis Tomlinson of One Direction was so impressed and moved with Jayna’s performance, he hit the Golden Buzzer.
Andra Day will perform the song “Rise Up” (as she did recently on the other talent TV show So You Think You Can Dance). But on America’s Got Talent, Day will perform with AGT dancing alum Blue Journey (2014). America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC. P.S.
