For The Voice Season 11 Blind Auditions, 15-year-old Gabe Broussard of Lafayette, Louisiana sang the Mark Broussard (no relation) song, “Lonely Night in Georgia.” At first the song seemed like an odd choice for the high school student who says he doesn’t have much experience with girls. But Broussard said when he sings the song he thinks about what it “would be like.”
Broussard’s imagination is strong and his voice is a powerful tool. After the performance, Adam Levine said, “Dude, your face is so sweet but your voice has been up to no good at all.” Blake Shelton said, “You sound like a freaking stud.” Broussard replied, “Thank you. My mom tells me that all the time.” Broussard added, “I didn’t believe her until now.” Broussard is now on Team Blake.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
