In the TV movie It Had to Be You, Darby Powell is a young advertising executive whose small agency has been acquired by her father’s firm (Corbin Bernsen). Now Darby’s forced to work with her rival Derrick Henderson (Michael Rady) on a big account. Although they got off to a a tumultuous beginning, Darby and Derrick eventually play nice with each other.
Darby is portrayed by Torrey DeVitto. The Long Island native is known for her roles on Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. (Dr. Natalie Manning), Pretty Little Liars (Melissa Hastings), Army Wives (Maggie Hall), The Vampire Diaries (Dr. Meredith Fell), and One Tree Hill (Carrie), among others. Fun fact: Her father is Liberty DeVitto, Billy Joel’s longtime drummer. It Had to Be You will premiere on LMN on Tuesday, August 30 at 8pm.
