Madonna, the once rubber-bangled provocateur from Michigan by way of New York City who dominated 80s culture and reinvented herself again and again, turned 58 years old this month. She celebrated in Havana, Cuba — a city almost as well-preserved as Madonna seems to be.

Posting a photo on Instagram that shows her looking satisfied, happy, ageless and as defiant as ever, Madonna immediately received a bounty of comments — most wishing her a long and happy life, complimenting her young spirit, and praising her as Queen. As further evidence of her vitality, Madonna posted a gleeful video of her dancing with her son Rocco. Pure joy on their faces and hardly any defiance at all, except her defiance of age.
