In the Season 2 premiere of Odd Mom Out, Jill (Jill Kargman) is trying to jump start her career after having three kids. She used to work at a fashion magazine for a woman named Trixie who’s still there “sucking up souls like a dustbuster.” At home, for Yom Kippur, Jill and her husband Andy (Andy Buckley) have their parents over. Andy’s mother (Joanna Cassidy) keeps the conversation alive by mentioning that she had a few dinner dates with Bill Cosby in the 1980s and “he never touched me once.” She adds in disbelief, “I’m haunted by it.”
Jill’s mother is portrayed by Blythe Danner. In addition to being the mother of Gwyneth Paltrow, she’s known for her roles on the TV mini-series Madoff (Ruth Madoff), Will & Grace (Will’s mother Marilyn Truman), and in the Meet the Parents movies (Robert De Niro’s wife Dina), The Prince of Tides (Sally Wingo), and The Great Santini (Lillian), among many others. Danner is also recognized for her roles on stage. She won the 1970 Tony Award for her role in “Butterflies Are Free,” and she’s been a regular performer at the Williamstown Summer Theater Festival. Odd Mom Out airs Mondays at 10pm on Bravo.
