In the Bones episode “The Head in the Abutment,” a professional hockey player has been decapitated. His headless body is found in a river. While Hodgins (TJ Thyne) and Oliver (guest star Brian Klugman) build a drone to retrieve the dead athlete’s head, Booth’s (David Boreanaz) love of hockey comes in handy on the case. During the investigation, Booth is reunited with an old rival, Jeremy “JR” Roenick, who just happens to be the decapitated dude’s coach.
Jeremy Roenick plays himself in the episode. The former NHL player used to play for the Chicago Blackhawks, Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks. Over the course of his 18-season career, Roenick scored 513 goals. Roenick retired in 2009. Bones airs Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
