RAII and Whitney Smith, the sweet husband and wife duo from Chicago, is bringing the Motown sound to Season 11 of America’s Got Talent. For their audition, The Smiths sing the 1968 Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell song “You’re All I Need to Get By.” Fun fact about the song: it was written by real-life couple Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson, who sing backup on the song.
RAII and Whitney met when RAII joined Whitney’s local gospel music ensemble in Urbana-Champaign, where RAII was a student at the University of Illinois. Two years after marrying, in 2012, they joined the Alicia Keys band. They are her sole supporting vocalists. Uh, think they’ll make it? America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays on NBC.
