On Season 2 of Celebrity Family Feud, former NSYNC singer Lance Bass and his family play against country singer Kellie Pickler and her family. There’s a big difference in their families and how they’re presented on the game show. Traditionally, spouses stand next to each other in the row of players. Kellie and her husband Kyle Jacobs are doing so, but Lance and his husband Michael Turchin are not. They are separated. Lance’s mother Diane stands between them.

While Lance and Michael became the first same-sex couple to get married on cable television (E! broadcast “Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding” on February 5, 2015), maybe network television isn’t ready to have a husband and husband stand next to each other. Or maybe it’s just being good to mom. Celebrity Family Feud airs Sundays at 8pm on ABC.
