Emmy Award-winning actress Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife, ER) has joined the cast of Three Christs. The film which is set in 1959 Michigan is based on the Milton Rokeach book The Three Christs Of Ypsilanti. Ypsilanti was a real mental hospital in Michigan where controversial experiments on schizophrenic patients took place. Margulies plays the wife of social psychiatrist Rokeach (portrayed by Richard Gere) who performs the experiments on three patients (Peter Dinklage, Bradley Whitford, Walton Goggins) — each of whom believes he is Jesus Christ.
Margulies’ character is a stay-at-home mother of two who wants to break out of her everyday routine and keep her husband away from his attractive female assistant. According to Deadline, Margulies’ character “is not above using her charms — and the occasional provocative sexual encounter” to keep her husband’s attention.
