Charles Manson is currently serving his nine concurrent life sentences at the Corcoran State Prison in Corcoran, California. He will be up for parole for the 13th time in 2027, when he would be 92 years old. Other high-profile inmates at Corcoran include serial killer John Floyd Thomas Jr. aka The Westside Rapist, Phillip Garrido, who’s known for kidnapping 11-year-old Jaycee Lee Dugard and keeping her captive in his back yard for 18 years, and Mikhail Markhasev, the murderer of Ennis Cosby, entertainer Bill Cosby’s only son.
Markhasev was 18 years old when he fatally shot Ennis Cosby in the head in a failed robbery or carjacking attempt along a California highway in 1997. Cosby was changing a flat tire. For years Markhasev said he was innocent until he confessed in 2001. Markhasev is serving his life sentence at Corcoran. Dateline NBC is showing rarely-seen footage from the NBC archives, including interviews with Charles Manson, on June 16, right before the Season 2 premiere of Aquarius, which is about a cop who goes undercover to track Charles Manson and the Manson Family before their infamous murder spree in the summer of ’69. Dateline NBC airs Thursday at 8pm.
