Maddie Ziegler, the 13-year-old dancer made famous on Dance Moms and then as Sia’s music video muse, has joined the reality TV dance competition show, So You Think You Can Dance. She will serve as a judge with Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul, and Jason Derulo. Maddie is the perfect fit as Season 13 of SYTYCD: The Next Generation will feature young dancers, ages 8 to 13. She said of her new job: “It’s weird for me, because I’m not the one competing. I’m the one giving feedback to the kids.”
Maddie and her little sister Mackenzie performed with the ALDC team for the last time on Dance Moms last week (see clip below). Ziegler’s mother Melissa Gisoni will say her final goodbye on the Dance Moms Reunion on Tuesday, May 10 at 9pm. SYTYCD: The Next Generation will premiere Monday, May 30 at 8pm on FOX.
