J Poppa (the J stands for his biblical name, Job) is portrayed by Mo McRae. McRae known for his roles on Murder in the First (Anthony “Suger” Cascade”), Sons of Anarchy (Tyler Yost), and Ray Donovan (Deonte Frasier), among others. McRae is also recognized for his roles in the films Wild (Jimmy Carter), Lee Daniels’ The Butler (Eldridge Huggins), and Thirteen (Rapper #2, Mo). Empire airs Wednesdays at 9pm on FOX.
