In the TV movie The Stepchild, 17-year-old Ashley Bennett (Sarah Fisher) and her stepmother Beth (Lauren Holly) were victims of a home invasion that claimed the life of Ashley’s father. Her father’s friend and business John is staying with Ashley and Beth to help them recover from the physical and emotional injuries but Ashley is suspicious of John. When Ashley finds out John’s wife died in an unusual accident, Ashley warns her stepmother. But Beth thinks Ashley is just paranoid from the traumatic experience they’ve endured.
John is portrayed by Paul Johansson. He’s best known for his roles on Mad Men (Ferg Donnelly), One Tree Hill (Dan Scott), The District (Father Patrick Debreno), Lonesome Dove (Austin Peale), Beverly Hills, 90210 (John Sears), and Santa Barbara (Greg Hughes). Johansson is currently working on the new vampire TV series Van Helsing (Dimitri) on Syfy. The Stepchild premieres on March 12 at 8pm on Lifetime. It will air again on March 13 at 12am and 4pm, and on March 19 at 10pm.
