In the Vinyl episode “He in Racist Fire,” Cece (Susan Heyward) tells Richie (Bobby Cannavale) that R&B artist Hannibal (Daniel J. Watts) is considering Coronet Records because he likes the PR gal over there, Andrea Zito (Andrea Parissi). Richie responds by organizing a double date with Cece and Hannibal. Richie calls his wife Devon (Olivia Wilde) and tells her to wear a sexy dress. Hannibal likes what he sees.
Hannibal is portrayed by Daniel J. Watts. He’s best known as a Broadway actor. The triple threat started in the ensemble of The Little Mermaid, In the Heights, Memphis: A New Musical, Motown the Musical, and as a performer in After Midnight, and most recently, Hamilton. Since 2013, Watts has been landing roles on TV shows including Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, Boardwalk Empire, and Person of Interest. Vinyl airs Sundays at 9pm on HBO.
