In the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode “Unholiest Alliance,” the squad tries to clear the name of one of their own who has been implicated in a cover-up for a sex-trafficking operation. The complicated ring involves church officials including Monsignor Patrick Mulregan (Jonathan Cake) and Father Eugene.
Father Eugene is portrayed by Michael O’Keefe. This isn’t the first time O’Keefe has appeared on Law & Order: SVU — in 2004 he played an outraged father and in 2002 he played a cop. The veteran actor is recognized for his roles on Masters of Sex (Henry, Virginia’s father), Homeland (John Redmond), and Roseanne (Fred, Jackie’s husband), among others. O’Keefe is also recognized for his roles in the films Michael Clayton (Barry Grissom) and the cult classic Caddyshack (caddy Danny Noonan). Law & Order: Special Victims Unit airs Wednesdays at 9pm on NBC.
