MacKenzie Bourg is the cute, creative singer/songwriter from Louisiana who’s competing on the fifteenth and final season of American Idol. He’s demonstrated his creativity from the get-go. At his audition, he sang a medley of songs that belong to the judges – Urban’s Stupid Boy, Connick’s Come By Me, and JLo’s Love Don’t Cost a Thing. And then he performed one of his original songs, Roses, on live national TV. It was a hit.
Now that voting power on American Idol has shifted from the judges to America, MacKenzie Bourg is shifting his attention to his fans. On Twitter, he encouraged his fans to send him 15-second videos. His direction wasn’t clear “and say why u wanna be the thing idk why just pls do it” but they’re doing it. That’s how much they love him. American Idol airs Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
