Avalon Young is the naturally cool 21-year-old singer from San Diego competing on the fifteenth and final season of American Idol. She’s wowed the judges with her stage presence. Now she’s vying for a slot in the Top 8. On March 3, she’ll perform The Weeknd’s song “Earned It.” Avalon has already earned her rise so far, but she’s making a promise going forward. Avalon told her fans on Twitter: “no matter what happens tonight, im gonna sing my a$$ off because that’s what I came here to do.”
Avalon is confident partially due to the support she receives from her family, friends and fans. One of her friends, Kimmy, got a Redline tattoo to show her support. (Redline is Avalon’s debut EP.) American Idol airs Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
