Who Is Amanda In ‘The Best Of Me’?

To spread the spirit of Valentine’s Day, USA Network will air the 2014 film The Best of Me this weekend. The romantic drama is based on Nicholas Sparks’ bestselling novel of the same title. With some echoes of Sparks’ signature novel The Notebook, the protagonists of this movie, Amanda and Dawson, reunite after many years of being apart and find they still have the hots for each other.

Dawson is portrayed by James Marsden (X-Men, The Butler, 27 Dresses, Enchanted). Amanda is portrayed by Michelle Monaghan. She is best known for her roles on the TV shows True Detective (Maggie Hart) and Boston Public (Kimberly Woods). Monaghan is also recognized for her roles in the films The Heartbreak Kid (Miranda), Mission: Impossible III (Julia), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Gwen), and The Bourne Supremacy (Kim), among others. The Best of Me will premiere on USA on February 13 at 8:30pm.
