When the first footage from the Wonder Woman film in the works was released (see below), lots of people voiced their opinions. From DC Comics fans to fellow filmmakers including Ava DuVernay, the Oscar-snubbed director of Selma. When DuVernay saw the Wonder Woman teaser starring Gal Gadot as the superhero, she said it was breathtaking and gave kudos to director Patty Jenkins.
Wait. One. Sec. Whew. Gotta catch my breath. That footage took it away! Directed by @PattyJenks! Yes! #WonderWoman https://t.co/GqEwCwck9n

Patty Jenkins is the 44-year-old director best known for directing the 2003 film Monster, which earned Charlize Theron an Oscar for Best Actress. Since then, Jenkins directed an episode of Arrested Development “The One Where They Build a House”, two episodes of Entourage in 2006, took a year off to have a baby, went back to work, and directed two episodes of The Killing in 2012. Before Wonder Woman is released in 2017, you can see Jenkins’ work in the TV movie Exposed about an investigative journalist named Anna Loach (Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Mercy Street, The Returned) who relies on questionable methods in order to expose the truth.
