NBC is launching the new comedy series, You, Me and the Apocalypse. Many actors in the stellar cast are well recognized. Rob Lowe plays a spacey, cigarette smoking priest (Father Jude), and The Office’s Jenna Fischer plays librarian Rhonda MacNeil — who’s serving time in jail. What do the priest and convict have in common? They – and a handful of other equally eclectic people – have survived a comet’s collision with Earth.
The most outrageous survivor is Leanne Parkins, a convict who befriends Rhonda in prison. When the comet hits, the two escape together to the dismay of Rhonda. Leanne is a white supremacist who wears a swastika tattoo on her forehead. When on the lam, driving a pickup truck, Leanne says to Rhonda, “This is gonna’ be fun — like Driving Miss Daisy
