Bravo’s latest reality cooking show Recipe for Deception features four chefs trying to impress two top judges, Chris Oh and Jonathan Waxman. The culinary show will reveal the chefs’ secret strategies, ingredients and — as in all reality food shows — backstabbing and deception are guaranteed fun. The dapper host of Recipe for Deception is Max Silvestri.
[Silvestri’s comedy album King Piglet was named one of 2014’s best by New York Magazine and The AV Club]
Silvestri is a 32-year-old standup comedian from New Jersey who studied semiotics (the study of signs and symbols and how they’re used) at Brown University. When not exercising his knowledge of semiotics while writing for GQ, Food & Wine, and Grantland, Silvestri is hosting standup shows across the country including the weekly show “Big Terrific” in Brooklyn with Jenny Slate and Gabe Liedman. You’ll be seeing more of Silvestri — he’s developing a single-camera comedy, Relative Success, with NBC. Recipe for Deception airs Thursdays at 10pm on Bravo.
