Phyllis is portrayed by the legendary actress/singer Linda Lavin. She’s best known for her TV role as Alice and for her stage performances on Broadway – she won a Tony Award in 1987 for her role as Kate in Neil Simon’s Broadway Bound. Recently, the 78-year-old has been landing several choice roles on The Good Wife (Cary Agos’ pretrial officer Joy Grubick), as a criminal courts judge on Bones, and as Patty in the 2015 film The Intern with Robert De Niro. Mom airs Thursdays at 9pm on CBS, after Life in Pieces.
