On the reality TV show Growing Up Hip Hop, Damon “Boogie” Dash visits his namesake father who’s in legal trouble again. Boogie flew to the West Coast to be with his father, the former Roc-A-Fella Records bigwig. Boogie says, “He (Dash) urgently wanted me to come to LA to give him support.” Dash appreciates the visit, “You’re like the golden child, right now,” Dash tells Boogie. On camera, Boogie explains “All my life, and half of his (his father’s), we’ve been in court over battles of custody.” Dash’s ex-wife Rachel Roy, mother of his two daughters, claims Dash owes thousands in unpaid child support and has filed for a restraining order which means Dash can’t see his kids.

Boogie knows what his sisters are going through. His mother, Linda Williams, a 49-year-old Long Island nursing student, sued Dash in 2010 for $1 million. That was after Dash accused her of harassment in 2009. He said she sent him dozens of harassing emails which violates a family court order that she not contact him. She says those emails never existed. A court ruled in her favor – she was awarded $50k. Boogie says he appreciates his mother, “I always loved my mom but I haven’t lived with her since I was about 8 years old.” Growing Up Hip Hop airs Thursdays at 10pom on WEtv.
