Actress Eva Longoria of Desperate Housewives fame is back on TV. She’s the star of the new comedy Telenovela. She plays Ana Sofia, the star of a long-running telenovela. Her dramatic life gets even more dramatic when her real-life ex Xavier (Jencarlos Canela) joins the cast of the soap opera. But it’s the ripped gay supporting actor Gael Garnica who really steals the scene.

Gael is portrayed by Jose Moreno Brooks. After graduating from UCLA with degrees in Economics and Philosophy, Brooks intended to go to law school. Right before paying that first tuition check, he had a change of heart. While working as a model with Ford Models, he started to take acting classes. He recently starred in MTV’s One Bad Choice based on the life of Stephan Perez, the Columbia college student who was caught running an Adderall drug ring on campus in 2011. Telenovela premieres December 7 at 10pm on NBC.
