On the Hawaii Five-0 episode “Ka Makau Kaa Kaua” (The Sweet Science), the team hits the gym when the brother of a promising local boxer, Luke Nakano, is murdered. The number 1 suspect is the outspoken reigning champion opponent from the mainland, Devon Haynes (Harold House Moore). Boxing fans keep a look out for former IBF light-welterweight champ James “Buddy” McGirt who makes a cameo appearance as himself.
Luke Nakano is portrayed by Lewis Tan. The actor has appeared on TV shows including CSI: NY and CSI: Miami, but he’s best known as a stuntman. His work has appeared in the films The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, and The Hangover Part III, among others. Tan’s father is the famous stuntman turned stunt coordinator Philip Tan. Hawaii Five-0 airs Fridays at 9pm on CBS.
