Alek Skarlatos is the 23-year-old National Guardsman who heroically subdued a gunman on a French train earlier this year. He’s a tough guy. As a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, he’s been told to soften up a bit on the dance floor. While he performs well with his pro dancing partner Lindsay Arnold — “He’s so sturdy, like a jungle gym,” she says — the judges have been urging Skarlatos to bring more personality to his performances. His fans are trying to help by giving him the nickname, hashtag #HotBoyNation.
Skarlatos is committed to showing more emotion, if not on Dancing With the Stars than on the big screen. He has agreed to make a cameo appearance in the upcoming military comedy Range 15. The 2016 film stars William Shatner and Sean Astin and will feature cameos from other celebrities including legendary porn star Ron Jeremy (see photo above). Dancing with the Stars will name the Mirror Ball Trophy on November 24 at 9pm on ABC.
