The seventh season of The Good Wife is going to be chock full of new characters. While Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) returns to bail bond court and meets attorney Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo), Alicia’s estranged husband Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) is making a play for Vice President of the United States. Peter and Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) meet with national strategist Ruth Eastman. Eastman wants to know if Alicia will be involved in his campaign. It’s not looking good, Ruth!

Ruth Eastman is portrayed by Margo Martindale. She made her film debut in Days of Thunder with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Since then Martindale’s been in a plethora of films with Academy Award winning actors including Dead Man Walking (Sister Colleen), Million Dollar Baby (Hilary Swank’s mother), August: Osage County, and The Hours, among others. She recently starred in the TV sitcom The Millers with Beau Bridges and Will Arnet. The Good Wife airs Sundays at 9pm on CBS.
