On The Good Wife episode “Cooked,” Peter Florrick’s new strategist Ruth Eastman (Margo Martindale) tells Eli to convince Alicia to appear on the cooking show, “Mama’s Homespun Cooking”, with her mother Veronica (Stockard Channing). It’s the “Hillary Clinton cookies” political move designed to show voters that Alicia isn’t all business, all lawyer, all the time. She has a softer side too and can relate to everyday women who have the time to cook for their families. Alicia will put on a fake smile for the cameras but Veronica isn’t as easy to control.
