In the small town of Mountain City, Tennessee, Billie Jean Hayworth lived with her boyfriend Billy Payne and their 7-month-old son. On Facebook, they “friended” a woman named Jenelle Potter. Jenelle says she had trouble making friends in real life, in town, “’cause I wasn’t born and raised here,” she told ABC’s 20/20. Jenelle says Billy and Billie Jean started to bully her on Facebook and they eventually “unfriended” each other. But when Billy and Billie Jean were discovered dead in their home, Jenelle was suspect #1. They were killed by single gunshots to their faces. Billie Jean was holding her son in her arms. (The boy survived unharmed.)

Jenelle Potter wasn’t the only suspect. Her father Marvin Potter and her mother Barbara Potter were also accused of being involved in the murders. All three Potters were found guilty of murder and have been sentenced to life in jail. ABC 20/20 will air its investigation of the murders and the Potter family on October 9 at 10pm.
