While Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) continues to display erratic behavior on and off camera, Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) strives to make her label, Highway 65, succeed. She makes a big play by trying to sign rock star Marcus Keen. The former front man of a mainstream band is going solo and Rayna promises to help him “strip down his sound and help him break into country.” He agrees to work with Rayna and then discovers just how desperate she is to make his album a hit.

Marcus Keen is portrayed by Riley Smith. He’s been on several TV shows including True Blood (Keith the friendly vampire), 90210 (Riley Wallace), 24 (Kyle Singer), and Freaks and Geeks (Todd Schellinger). This summer he had a recurring role as Steve Mercer on True Detective. Nashville airs Wednesdays at 10pm on ABC.
